Emergency Preparation Author: 1CountryBoy

Emergency preparation is a necessity to prepare for.  What if the type of emergency changes.  There is a new type of emergency evolving.  That emergency is bankruptcy and homelessness.  To people that are used to their way of life being a certain way, bankruptcy and homelessness if a real and fearful emergency.  Start preparing for this type of new emergency now.  Save all the money you can.  Eliminate paying for things that you don’t need to live, turn off monthly charges to credit cards that aren’t keeping you alive, turn off those little technological gadgets and turn off their monthly charges & DO THINGS FOR YOURSELF.

Learn to do without the rising expenses of the stores and utilities.  Learn how to make the things you need for everyday life.  Learn alternative methods to buying things.

Every region in the whole world has its own type of reoccuring natural disasters.  Some places are less fortunate to have more than two or three reoccuring natural disasters.  Every region even on top of the frequent natural disasters they have freak or nontipical natural disasters.  Do you know the type of natural disasters that frequent the region you live in?  Knowing & Preparing for the type of natural disasters that are more likely to be in your region will increase your chances of survival dramatically.

The United States is no stranger to natural disasters.  There are more than 6 reoccuring natural disasters that happen on a regular basis in the United States.  Every region in the U.S. has its own type of natural disasters and most regions have more than one type of reoccuring natural disaster.  Floods are the # 1 natural disaster that plagues the U.S. as a whole.  With the global warming effect on the world’s climate and storms, the flood regions are going to change.  The flood regions and the flash flood regions are going to get larger.  Places that were just outside the flood regions are going to be threatened by floods in the near future.

Lifestyle or Life Author: 1CountryBoy

Today, we are faced with the forced choices of yesterday’s predictions.  I can remember, when I was in the third grade, scientists were predicting that the earth was warming up due to the use (Burning) of fossil fuels.  They also predicted that the Natural Disasters, storms of all types, would increasingly get stronger and more frequent.  They were quickly hushed by God knows who.  If I had my guess, it would be by the Oil Companies & Car Manufacturers or, worse of all, Politicians.

Now today, we have to make lifestyle changes quickly to preserve life for our children and grandchildren.  The changes we need to make are not drastic, just conservative.  In every way possible we need to conserve our energy and oil consumption.  If everybody did this, we all could say we did our part in changing the world for ourselves, our children, our grandchildren, and other generations to come.

Recent Cyclone Disaster Author: 1CountryBoy

The recent natural disaster in Myanmar was horrible.  I wish The Southern Family Survival Guide could have helped them in time.  With over 15 thousand dead and over 44 thousand still missing, this natural disaster will clearly go down in the books as one of Mother Nature’s worst killers.  There have been higher death tolls from cyclones in the past and I’m sure there will be natural disasters with high death tolls in the future.

Cyclone is the name for the type of storm that we have in the U.S. called a hurricane.  Cyclones are not considered a cyclone until they have wind speeds of over 110 km/h or 75 MPH.  Cyclones form only in tropical regions.  Cyclones produce extremely heavy amounts of rainfall, huge storm surges, and intense wind speeds.

The best way to prepare for a hurricane, typhoon, or cyclone is to leave ahead of time!  At The Southern Family Survival Guide we want to inform everyone on natural disaster preparation.

Can You Imagine? Author: 1CountryBoy

Good Day Everyone!

I had a question for all my fellow human beings out there.  Before I ask you, I have a few little points to make.  In the event of a natural disaster and we feel that our lives are threatened, people do not think clearly or sometimes even rational.  We all go back in time and our deep-seeded, inbread instincts take over.  Adrenaline starts pumping through our bodies ninety to nothing.  The thought process almost completely shuts down.  If we are faced with a decision, the first thing that pops into mind, we do it, immediately.  The only thing that is clearly focused in our minds is “We GOTTA GO!  We GOTTA GO NOW!  ANYWAY, ANYHOW, ANYWAY NOW,  We GOTTA GO!”  With danger behind and safety ahead, our one speed is wide open so I’m stepping ahead.  It is not that we turn into hideous beasts that have no concious.  We are just panicing and we are trying to get to safety in a hurry.

We would not resort back to that type of behavior with the right information inside our heads or on our hips or on our hips and inside our heads.  Our new disaster preparation guides that are ready to download onto your electronic Ebook readers will do two things.  Number one, they will give you the necessary information when you need it most.  Number two, once you read them and know what the information consists of, that Age Old instinct will not be as likely to take over your body.

My question to you is this. = Which do you think is better.  ( A ) Read a disaster preparation guide and leave it at home?  ( B ) Have a disaster preparation guide, not read it, and waste valuable time looking up the information you need to know at the “Critical Moment”.  ( C ) Read and learn the instructions in a disaster preparation guide, carry it with you everywhere, and if you need to, look back to refresh your memory before the “Critical Moment”.

Disaster PreparednessAre You Ready?
Why Prepare

There are real benefits to disaster preparedness

Being prepared can reduce fear, anxiety, and losses that accompany disasters. Communities, families, and individuals should know what to do in the event of a fire and where to seek shelter during a tornado. They should be ready to evacuate their homes and take refuge in public shelters and know how to care for their basic medical needs.

People also can reduce the impact of disasters (flood proofing, elevating a home or moving a home out of harm’s way, and securing items that could shake loose in an earthquake) and sometimes avoid the danger completely.

The need to prepare is real.

Disasters disrupt hundreds of thousands of lives every year. Each disaster has lasting effects, both to people and property.
If a disaster occurs in your community, local government and disaster-relief organizations will try to help you, but you need to be ready as well. Local responders may not be able to reach you immediately, or they may need to focus their efforts elsewhere.

You should know how to respond to severe weather or any disaster that could occur in your area - hurricanes, earthquakes,
extreme cold, flooding, or terrorism.

You should also be ready to be self-sufficient for at least three days. This may mean providing for your own shelter, first aid, food, water, and sanitation.

Using this guide makes preparation practical.

This guide was developed by the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA), which is the agency responsible for responding to national disasters and for helping state and local governments and individuals prepare for emergencies. It contains step-by-step advice on how to prepare for, respond to, and recover from disasters.

Used in conjunction with information and instructions from local emergency management offices and the American Red Cross, Are You Ready? will give you what you need to be prepared.
