What About Santa Claus? Author: 1CountryBoy

Santa Claus is in desperate trouble.  This year it is believed that the North Pole polar ice cap will melt completely.  Now that is History in the making!  The polar ice cap has never melted in the history of the earth, so the scientists say.

Without the North Pole polar ice cap, will the wind from the North be cold?  With the water near the North Pole warm, will the species that can only survive in cold water die out completely?  No North Pole ice cap is going to present a whole new array of problems and questions with no positive answers like:

Santa Claus will have to find a new home and parents will have to change the Santa Claus story they tell their children.  All the Santa books & movies will have to be thrown out and redone.  OR  We could simply tell our children that the human race’s greed and wastefulness made Santa’s House fall into the sea.

The TV Series “Deadliest Catch” has hit an upcoming dead end.

Look OUT Canadians & Grizzly Bears,  You have a new neighbor, the Polar Bear!  He has to go South,  He can’t swim forever.

There will be some thing or things that the warmer sea water will have a positive effect on, NATURAL DISASTERS.  Storms of all kinds will grow in intensity from the warmer sea water and more moisture in the air.

Stronger storms are coming!!!!!!!!!  We all had better start preparing or at least learning how to prepare for the upcoming storms.

Every region in the whole world has its own type of reoccuring natural disasters.  Some places are less fortunate to have more than two or three reoccuring natural disasters.  Every region even on top of the frequent natural disasters they have freak or nontipical natural disasters.  Do you know the type of natural disasters that frequent the region you live in?  Knowing & Preparing for the type of natural disasters that are more likely to be in your region will increase your chances of survival dramatically.

The United States is no stranger to natural disasters.  There are more than 6 reoccuring natural disasters that happen on a regular basis in the United States.  Every region in the U.S. has its own type of natural disasters and most regions have more than one type of reoccuring natural disaster.  Floods are the # 1 natural disaster that plagues the U.S. as a whole.  With the global warming effect on the world’s climate and storms, the flood regions are going to change.  The flood regions and the flash flood regions are going to get larger.  Places that were just outside the flood regions are going to be threatened by floods in the near future.

Have You Noticed ? Author: 1CountryBoy

I remember when I was a child that there were different seasons and a slow transition between each one.  I remember days and days of nothing but slow & steady rain.  I remember the Summer days that you could bear to be outside all day long.  I remember that during Winter the cold would last for months.  I remember that there was snow every year.

Today, I live in the same town that I grew up in and things are not the same as when I was a child.  We haven’t had a 5 or 6 inch snow in years.  The last snow we had this past year was completely gone in 24 hours.  That was the first 5 inch snow that we had here in over 18 years.  The only other winter accumulation we have had is either sleet or freezing rain.  Summers are just unbearable with 110 to 115 degree days.  That is without the heat index!  The seasons go straight from Summer to Winter and straight from Winter to Summer.  Rain during Summer is getting scarcer & scarcer.  The grass dies every Summer, trees start losing their leaves from lack of rain, ponds dry up, lakes’ shoreline receeds down to mere puddles, & creeks and rivers dry up to mere trickles.

Wake Up Everybody!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  We as a human race have to change our ways of living and ways of getting energy, NOW!  If we all band together and try to make a change, IT WILL MAKE A DIFFERENCE!

The one single element that contributes to Natural Disasters such as: Hurricanes, Tornadoes, Thunderstorms, Flashfloods, Snowstorms, & Blizzards is GLOBAL WARMING.  We can only expect and prepare for more and stronger storms of all types.  The number of catagory 4 & 5 hurricanes per year has doubled in the last decade.  All storms are predected to increase in strength by 30 - 40% within the next decade, according to the recorded increases in CO2 levels within the atmosphere and compared with the world’s population increases and fossil fuel & energy consumption.

We can all do our part in slowing down global warming by trying to conserve energy any way we can and trying to cut back on fossil fuel consumption any way we can.  That would also be trying to help preserve the quality of our children’s and grandchildren’s lives.  In a round about way, slowing global warming could also be considered Natural Disaster Prevention

The time is now to prepare for the future and for the future natural disasters any way we can.  Just one small step a day or one small goal accomplished a day is 100% - 200% better than a step sideways or a step backwards.
